Santaquin history: Santaquin is known as the hub of the
county's fruit growing.
Demographics of Santaquin, Utah
As of the census of 2000, there were 4,834
people, 1,304 households, and 1,155 families
residing in the city. The population density was
1,848.8 people per square mile (715.1/km²).
There were
1,364 housing units at an average density of
521.7 per square mile (201.8/km²).
There were 1,304 households out of which 61.1%
had children under the age of 18 living with them,
77.8% were married couples living together, 7.5% had
a female householder with no husband present, and
11.4% were non-families. 9.3% of all households were
made up of individuals and 4.0% had someone living
alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average
household size was 3.71 and the average family size
was 3.97.
