- Your home needs to remain in print media until your home
sells. Many “For Sale by Owners” complain it is too
expensive; but, nonetheless, it is important. Plan your ad
well. Don’t bother with the thrifty nickel or other low
budget papers. Advertise in the Daily Herald. The phone
number is 373-6450; then press 1 to speak with an ad
consultant. Their one month special is currently $127 for
four lines of text. The four month rate is $238 for four
lines of text. The Daily Herald also places your ad, once a
week, in the 10 local papers as well as in their “Homes
Magazine,” which comes out every Friday.
Handling Phone Calls - Phone
calls are part of your marketing strategy—they are your
strongest form of communication with buyers. So make a plan
for handling them, and don’t forget to instruct all
household members on how you want them to handle the phone
messages, too (especially teens). (I actually have no sound
advice on how to successfully accomplish that!)
Have information sheets ready and available by the phone.
Keep a short list of the most important points you want to
make or features you want to emphasize. Your goal is to
convey enthusiasm about your home, get appointments set up,
and make buyers excited about seeing your home. One of the
most important parts of selling your home is following up
with EVERY potential buyer who looks at your home. Follow-up
cannot be overemphasized and is so vital to the sale of your
home. Many sales are lost because sellers don’t follow-up,
resolve concerns, and, essentially, close the deal. Don’t
wait for someone to drive-up to your home and write you a
check. It won’t happen!

costs $499 for up to 3 months. -- ¼ page ad with homes over
$250k costs $699 for up to 3 months Issue# 13-107 had 64
pages, with only 12 pages of homes in Utah County. I found
this magazine in Albertsons. I advertise my homes monthly in
Homes Choice Magazine. The January 2006 issue featured 112
pages of homes in Utah County, with a distribution of 18,000
copies.
